  • 96% of the clothes that the French currently purchase come from abroad, the vast majority of which from Asia.
  • Today, the manufacture of a simple cotton t-shirt can represent 5 kg of CO2 emissions, and 2,500 liters of water.
  • For the time, about ten methods are being studied, in order to inform about the environmental impact of jeans, a t-shirt or a pair of shoes.
  • This environmental labeling must be simple for the consumer, intuitive, explains Éric Boël, in charge of the Sustainable Development Commission within the Union of Textile Industries (UIT).
